Ahmad Khan Rahami, the individual wanted in connection to bombing plots in New York City and Elizabeth, New Jersey, is currently in custody after a shootout with police, according to media reports.

Authorities revealed that Rahami is being sent to a nearby hospital after being shot in the leg. Two officers are being treated for wounds. The shooting unfolded in Linden, New Jersey — which is about 13 miles southeast of Manhattan boarding Staten Island.

Early Monday morning, the FBI began searching for Rahami, releasing his name and picture to the public sparking a manhunt across northern New Jersey. His fingerprint was found on one of the devices that failed to detonate.

The events leading to Rahami’s capture began on Saturday with a series of bombings and attempted bombings across Manhattan and New Jersey.

An initial bombing only partially exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey on Saturday morning.

Hours later, on Saturday night in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, one bomb exploded on 23rd Street injuring 29 individuals. Officers discovered another pressure cooker bomb that failed to explode four blocks north of the original site.

A backpack containing explosives was discovered Sunday night in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The pipe bombs exploded as a police robot examined the device near a train station.

SiriusXM will update this post with continuing coverage of the bombings in the Chelsea Neighborhood of New York City and the attempted bombing in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
