A gunman fired a barrage of shots into the crowd of the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, leaving at least 58 dead and more than 520 injured, Las Vegas Sheriff said.

The deadly massacre unfolded during country superstar Jason Aldean’s performance on the final night of the music festival, which is directly across the street from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, where police said the shooter unleashed the gunfire.

SiriusXM The Highway host Storme Warren, who had been broadcasting from the festival all weekend, told CNN, “It’s the sound I can’t get out of my head. It was a rat-a-tat-tat sound. Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat. That is the sound I can’t get out my head… It’s truly a horrific event.”

The rising death toll makes this the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.
