Fantasy football: Yeah, if you’ve got Keenan Allen or Eddie Lacy, you’re kind of screwed

Tuesday on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio, Derek VanRiper and Jeff Erickson attempted to assign fantasy football trade value to San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen and Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy.

Allen and Lacy were two of the more sought-after targets prior to the season; Allen had a significant place in the Chargers’ aerial attack, and Lacy was the workhorse running back in the Packers’ supercharged offense. Instead, both players have disappointed:

Through six games, Lacy has carried the ball 80 times for 306 yards, an average of just 3.8 yards per carry. He’s rushed for less than 50 yards five times, and two of his three rushing touchdowns game in the Packers’ Week 5 win over the Minnesota Vikings – the only game Lacy made a sizable contribution for Green Bay. Lacy has also been a non-factor in the passing game, with 10 receptions for 76 yards.

Like Lacy, Allen has had one big game; in the Chargers’ Week 4 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Allen caught 10 passes for 135 yards. Otherwise, Allen has been unremarkable; he has just 28 catches for 296 yards, and hasn’t yet found the end zone.

If Allen or Lacy still have a spot on your roster, and you want to finally cut bait, what can you expect in return? VanRiper and Erickson didn’t sound all that enthusiastic about the options. Have a listen:
