Tuesday night’s fantasy football waiver wire period is integral for teams with playoff aspirations, or teams already in the postseason; most leagues with six-team playoffs start their postseason in Week 14, while leagues that feature a four-team playoff system wrap up their regular season this week.

SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio’s John Hansen admitted Monday that people in search of another gem are “dealing here on the low end,” but did run through a litany of players that may be up for grabs overnight.

Running backs

Hansen named Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick, San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde and Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman as options on waivers.

Hansen said of Hyde, “He did play 29 percent of snaps [in Week 13, and] he’s been more effective than Frank Gore.”

As for Freeman: “He looks good. Give him the ball! Let’s see what he can do with 17 carries a game and two, three grabs. But, Steven Jackson, let’s give him some credit. He’s remained in one piece for the most part, and he was a beast [Sunday]; he ran for 100.”

Wide receivers

See below for Hansen’s list of players worth targeting this week. Perhaps more notable, though, were three players Hansen advised owners to avoid: Eddie Royal, Cole Beasley and Chris Hogan. Hansen said he doesn’t “trust” Royal, and because of “gameplan questions,” Hogan and Beasley are tough to bank on.
