Elvis Radio (Ch. 19) is celebrating Elvis Week with special programming from Monday, August 8 through Tuesday, August 16. 

Elvis Week is an annual gathering that celebrates the life and legacy of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Each year, tens of thousands of devoted fans from across the globe make a pilgrimage to Graceland for this pop-culture phenomenon. This is the biggest week of the year for Elvis fans worldwide, and Elvis Radio provides on-site, in-depth coverage including celebrity guest DJ shows, all the sounds, all the info, all the Elvis music.

For the twelfth consecutive year, SiriusXM’s Elvis Radio will carry complete Elvis Week global coverage including reports, updates, interviews, and celebrity guest DJ shows, culminating in the live Candlelight Vigil play-by-play broadcast on Monday, August 15 at 9 pm ET.

Monday 8/8 at 9 am ET

LIVE from Graceland It’s Elvis Week on SiriusXM’s Elvis Radio!: Argo hosts an exclusive music special, Way Down In The Jungle Room: The Inside Back Story that features his conversation with James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, David Briggs and Norbert Putnam recorded LIVE in the Jungle Room! It was the first time the TCB Band musicians had been inside the Graceland Jungle room since they played with Elvis during the 1976 recording sessions.

Big Jim Sykes presents the historic Elvis Week 2007 GK Super Session with Jerry Schilling and Joe Esposito: During the 30th Elvis Week, Elvis Presley’s three closest friends and associates joined together in the Elvis Radio Studio LIVE from Graceland for a free-wheeling three-hour program as they share never-before-told stories and memories of their best times with the King Of Rock ‘n’ Roll spanning the earliest days of the 1950’s and Humes High School, right through Elvis’ US Army service, Hollywood, the recording studios, the ’68 Comeback, and of course, the Elvis concert years through the end of his life in 1977.

Graceland blogger Jon Waterhouse guest DJs with Argo: A frequent Elvis Radio guest DJ and Atlanta Georgia’s pop culture raconteur, Jon Waterhouse will contribute daily “Waterhouse Reports” with updates on his Elvis Week Memphis and Graceland discoveries.

Graceland’s Elvis Week Host/Emcee Tom Brown with Doc Walker: “Tupelo” Tom is the former vice president of original productions for Turner Classic Movies. While at TCM, Brown was the executive in charge of production on special Elvis Presley projects featuring Priscilla Presley, Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana, George Klein, Joe Esposito and the TCB Band. He is the long time host of Graceland’s Elvis Week events, interviewing Elvis’ band members, personal friends and movie costars. He is one of the few producers who has been allowed to shoot at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Radio Recorders Studio in Los Angeles and inside Graceland in Memphis.

Elvis Presley & Sam Phillips author/biographer Peter Guralnick guest DJs with Argo: Professor Guralnick will take us to school in the most informative and entertaining way. George Klein Show: George Klein first became aware of Elvis when he was 12 years old because the two of them were classmates! “He was my best friend,” George recalls. His favorite Elvis tune is “Don’t Be Cruel.” GK hosts his annual Memphis Mafia Reunion and George Klein Elvis Memorial Service at the University of Memphis every year during Elvis Week.
