Duane Brown saw the immediate difference after joining the Seattle Seahawks, the sense that he was a part of a team that had no doubt about its stature in the NFL.

Things were a bit looser. Smiles came easier. Everyone seemed to enjoy himself and his surroundings more than Brown had experienced with his previous team, the Houston Texans.

‘It’s a very fun atmosphere’

To say the least, the offensive tackle is happy the Texans shipped him to the Seahawks on Oct. 30.

“I think the atmosphere here is a little different,” Brown told Bruce Murray and Brady Quinn on the SiriusXM Blitz. “It’s a very fun atmosphere. I wouldn’t say (it’s) relaxed. Guys have a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work as well. Huge workloads from day to day.

‘When you reach the top of the top and you have so much success, it just kind of becomes what’s expected here’

“There’s just a feeling of greatness throughout the building. When you reach the top of the top and you have so much success, it just kind of becomes what’s expected here. So I’m just happy to be a part of this organization. Every day you see guys really working at their craft and it’s great to be a part of that.”

Brown has had no problem adjusting to his new team. In fact, he has found it to be a breeze.

‘The staff here, the players here have all embraced me and brought me up to speed’

“It’s been amazing,” he said. “The transition coming to Seattle has been great. The staff here, the players here have all embraced me and brought me up to speed. I’m pretty familiar with the offense. It’s kind of similar to what I ran in Houston when I was under Coach (Gary) Kubiak, so just learning terminology and getting some recall of that offense. It only took a few days and I was able to come in and contribute the first week and every week since.

“I’m starting to jell with the guys pretty good now. It’s hard, especially in a zone scheme; it’s all about continuity and guys working together and getting on the same page. We’ve had some shuffling here within the last week with (guard) Luke Joeckel coming back, so last week was my first game playing next to him. But it’s been great. We’ve got something good going now. … And it’s only up from here.”
