The Golden God himself, Robert Plant, is turning 70 on August 20.

To commemorate the birthday of one of the most recognizable voices in rock ‘n’ roll as well as the continued 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin, Deep Tracks (Ch. 27) is diving into the archives to encore two exclusive radio events. Hear a SiriusXM Artist Confidential with Plant recorded in March 2005 and a SiriusXM Town Hall with Plant recorded in October 2017.

While discussing with SiriusXM host David Fricke his time as the frontman for Zeppelin and his enormously successful solo work, Plant described how he draws inspiration for songs, starting with the fact that he “always write[s] stuff down.”

“I think I’m always observant,” he said. “I see. I hear. I remark at the ridiculousness of my condition, and that kind of quite often gives me good fuel to sing about characters in songs who are actually me, but maybe they’re not.”
