Chris Harris Jr., sees plenty of reason for excitement in the 2018 Denver Broncos.

The standout cornerback expects improvement resulting from the additions of multiple newcomers, beginning with the Broncos’ first-round draft pick, defensive end Bradley Chubb from North Carolina State.

‘He can move, so I see him being all over the field’

“Oh, man, he has all the tools,” Harris told Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt on Late Hits. “He kind of looks like a young Khalil Mack. Big, he’s around 280, around there. He can move, so I see him being all over the field. I think he’ll start. He’s been able to be that big of an impact player in OTAs, so I think he’ll start next year across from Von (Miller), for sure.”

Harris called Tramaine Brock, a cornerback the Broncos signed in free agency, “an underrated pickup.”

‘I was surprised how good (Tramaine Brock), for sure’

“Just another vet to come in and replace Aqib (Talib, who signed with the Los Angeles Rams),” he said. “He’s always going to have veterans that’s played in big games and he has. He’s been a huge impact, he can definitely play. I was surprised how good he was, for sure.”

Harris believes the combination of Loren Landow, the Broncos’ new strength and conditioning coach, and the rookies that have been added has done plenty to help make the club significantly faster. “I think we’ve been able to get more team speed and the younger rookie class, they came in hungry,” he said. “Those are two things, I think, are going to help us veterans.”

‘Right now, (Isaac Yiadom) is trying to get his body physically ready to play corner in this league’

Harris also likes what he sees from Isaac Yiadom, the Broncos’ third-round draft pick from Boston College, but doesn’t see him making as much of an early contribution as Chubb.

“Isaac has all the tools, but he’s slim right now, I think,” Harris said. “He’s 6-2, but he’s probably like 180. So a guy his size is probably (better at) more around 195-200. Right now, he’s trying to get his body physically ready to be able to play corner in this league versus strong receivers. Once he gets that done, I think he’s going to be a hell of a player for us.”
