Brett Favre: Romo should wait until Prescott struggles before returning

Brett Favre is “extremely impressed” with what Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has shown so far.

But that isn’t the sole reason he believes the Cowboys are better off sticking with Prescott rather than restoring Tony Romo as their starter once he is medically cleared to return from a broken bone in his back.

“I’ve tried to put myself in Tony’s shoes,” Favre said during his weekly appearance on the SiriusXM Blitz. “I’m sure Tony wants to play. He doesn’t want to get injured. He wants to be productive, but you have to look at the dynamics right now.

“And they really are hitting on all cylinders, so this is hypothetically thinking. If you’re Tony, you say, ‘You know what? As much as I want to play, I don’t want to press the issue. I want to play, but I’m going to let it play out right now and it’s probably better, if Dak starts struggling, and then they bring me in rather than they put me in and then all of a sudden we’re not hitting on all cylinders, everybody’s like, ‘Ah, they should’ve got rid of Tony.’ …
