Brett Favre 800Some might classify what has happened recently to Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback sensation Dak Prescott a “slump.”

There was the second loss of the season against the New York Giants, surrounded by less-than-spectacular performances in victories.

‘A 10-year vet would be proud of the way he has played’

Brett Favre doesn’t see it that way. The Hall-of-Fame quarterback maintains that Prescott should be a strong candidate for NFL MVP rather than just the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year.

“I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t seen the slump,” Favre told Bruce Murray and Maurice Jones-Drew on the SiriusXM Blitz. “I think the way he has played this year, I don’t change my stance one bit. I think the guy has played outstanding and, rookie or not, a 10-year vet would be proud of the way he has played if he were in that situation.

‘The way he’s handled himself with a lot of class is to be commended tremendously’

“That’s extremely difficult. Thrust into that situation, the way he’s handled himself, the poise, the plays that he’s made, the cool, the calm, the collectiveness, and the way he’s handled that with a lot of class is to be commended tremendously.

“I really don’t see a slump. I see a guy who has played outstanding.”
