The better you sleep, the better you are in between the sheets, according to Arianna Huffington.

The media maven discussed the connection between bedtime and bedroom performance Tuesday during a special Leading Ladies event with SiriusXM host Perri Peltz.

“For the guys here, sleep deprivation is very connected to erectile dysfunction. So instead of Viagra, guys, just get some sleep,” she said as the audience laughed. “For the women, one hour extra sleep increases your chances of having sex by 14 percent.”

Huffington, 65, gives more tips on combating what she labels America’s “sleep deprivation crisis” in her new book The Sleep Revolution, which is on shelves now.

“The bottom line is that when you’re sleep-deprived, the last thing you want to do is have sex, right?” she added. “So basically, sex, weight, wrinkles. Getting enough sleep is the best beauty treatment.”

The full Leading Ladies interview airs May 10 at noon ET on SiriusXM Stars (Ch. 109).
