A night after Cleveland ace Corey Kluber’s magnificent and overpowering effort silenced the Cubs’ bats, Chicago’s Jake Arrieta did the same against against the Tribe. Arrieta returned the favor and then some in throwing five and two-thirds innings of straight fire before Joe Maddon took him out. Chicago’s big righty had a no-hitter going until the fifth and he and Kluber are definitely drinking the same Kool-Aid this postseason.

The Series thus far has been marked by dominant pitching on both sides with Cleveland’s endless rotation of devastating pitchers taking care of business on Tuesday evening, while on Wednesday it was time for the North Siders dominant pitching staff to take the spotlight. Following Arrieta’s removal, Mike Montgomery and Aroldis Chapman fanned six Cleveland batters and gave up no runs in the relief effort. After Game 2 Mike Montgomery talked with SiriusXM MLB Network Radio about pitching on the game’s biggest stage:

The World Series now heads six hours west on I-80 as Wrigley Field hosts the World Series for the first time in 71 years on Friday evening. One can only hope that the remainder of this Fall Classic will be as epic as the first two games. Be sure to catch all of the action from Chicago on SiriusXM MLB Network Radio (XM 89, Sirius 209.)
