The New York Jets missed the playoffs but still posted a respectable 10-6 record under new head coach Todd Bowles in 2015. Having been so close to a playoff berth last season, the Jets see themselves in “win-now” mode.

Camp Report

Calling it “Camp Regret” would be an overstatement, but the New York Jets have done their share of lamenting this summer as they begin preparing for the 2016 season.

“We let a few games slip by, one that mattered,” defensive end Sheldon Richardson told Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller at the Jets’ Florham Park, N.J., training camp.

The “one that mattered” was the season-finale against the Buffalo Bills that knocked the Jets out of the playoffs.

“We’ve got a defense that’s got to start faster and an offense that’s got to close better,” Richardson said. “That’s one thing Coach (Todd) Bowles has said. Handling game situations a whole lot better, but right now, we most definitely are not looking back.”

Studs/Sleepers

Stud: The Jets think Matt Forte still has more to give, and so do our experts at SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. Forte ran for 900 yards and four touchdowns last season in what was one of his least productive in several years. We expect him to return to form with his new team.

Sleeper: In his second year with the Jets, our experts think Jace Amaro will become a bigger target at tight end. Though he had two touchdowns on 38 receptions last season, we think he could contribute a lot more now that he has a little more experience under him.
