The good thing about being Muslim is that I don’t have to wear a spooky costume on Halloween to scare some Americans. In fact, I may get a bunch of my Muslim friends to stand in front of Fox News on Halloween just to scare the crap out of Sean Hannity.

On my live show this Saturday (Halloween) morning, we will address a range of issues, from, “Is Halloween allowed in Islam?” to, “Is Jeb Bush a zombie,” to, “Are Arabs actually funny?” (Spoiler alert: Jeb may not be a zombie, but his campaign is the walking dead.)

I’ll be joined by CNN contributor and Democratic strategist Maria Cardona to talk last Wednesday night’s GOP debate. While the candidates elicited big cheers from the crowd at the debate when they attacked the moderators for their so called “gotcha questions,” will independent voters actually want these candidates to give us answers and not just attack the questioner?

Should high school students be tackled by the police for being on their cell phone in class? SiriusXM’s Karen Hunter will be on to talk the case that made headlines this week of the South Carolina high school student who was slammed to the ground by a sheriff’s officer after refusing to listen to his commands. Does the student share some of the blame or is this all on the officer? Plus, Karen will give us a preview of the special she’s hosting, “Muslims in America,” which airs this Monday on SiriusXM.

Sentenced to death for protesting? Al Jazeera America’s Wajahat Ali will join me to discuss the case of Ali al-Nimr, a Saudi Arabian student who has been sentenced to death for being involved in anti-government protest in 2012 when he was only 17 years old. Al-Nimr, who was in high school at the time of his arrest, was part of protests calling for social and political reforms in Saudi. Is this type of extreme punishment for dissent based on Islam or simply part of the Saudi government’s efforts to control their population? (Spoiler alert: It’s all Saudi.)

Funny Arabs? The 12th annual New York Arab American Comedy Festival is coming up Nov. 5-7, 2015. (I’m the co-producer of the fest.) Two of the funny comedians from the fest will join me: Maysoon Zayid, who is also the festival’s co-producer, and Ramy Youssef, to talk their best and worst Halloween stories.

Hope you not only tune in to my show, but join the conversation at 877-974-7487. I want to hear what you think about these issues, plus join us for our weekly “Ask A Muslim” a question segment.

My show airs live every Saturday at 10 am to noon ET on SiriusXM Insight (Ch 121) and repeats several times over the weekend. It is also available On Demand. Hope you check it out and better yet give us a call during the show to “Ask a Muslim” a question, discuss issues of the week or even be contestant on our weekly segment “Name That Religion.” And as always, I want to be your Muslim friend – so if you don’t have one follow me on Twitter at @deanofcomedy and I’ll follow you back or ask me questions at facebook.com/deanofradio.
