Your Week 5 NFL recap from SiriusXM’s resident married couple, Giants fans Aaron and Alex.

Alex: This week was all about football and family. We watched the games over at our cousin’s house and had a really good time. The only thing with me is, the more people I watch the games with, the less I remember about them. I’m watching the games, but I’m also chit-chatting, and it messes with my memory.

However, I do remember watching the Patriots-Cowboys game in astonishment; the Cowboys were able to keep the Patriots to a field goal for almost two whole quarters! Kudos Dallas. I expected a still-pissed-at-deflategate Tom Brady coming off a bye week to open up the scoring flood gates. And eventually, the Patriots did buckle down, holding Dallas to just two field goals on the way to a 30-6 win. Still – A-for-effort, Dallas!

I was also surprised to see so many teams improved to 5-0 or 4-0. (Sorry Andrew Luck; as much as I’d like to see you break New England’s win streak, I think they’re on a war path and have a serious chance of getting to 8-0. They’re playing the Jets, Dolphins and Redskins in the upcoming weeks, so yeah … 8-0 seems likely, though I’d love to be proven wrong.)

Anywho, I digress. Besides the Patriots, the Falcons, Bengals, Broncos, Panthers and Packers are all undefeated. I’ll be interested to see who goes down this week. Some of the undefeated teams’ opponents really need that win, and desperation can either push you or kill you. May the odds be ever in your favor!

P.S. NFL pic of the week: The first selfie from Tom Brady’s dog, Scooby.

Aaron: There is something about watching Sunday’s games with big groups of people that bothers me. Having meaningful human interaction, playing bocce and drinking booze really cuts into my scheduled anxiety over fantasy football.

I’m so busy bonding with babies that I can’t constantly refresh my daily fantasy contests.

Don’t even get me started on the guilt that I feel over neglecting my six season-long teams.

At least my cousins are in one league with me, and we could sneak a few minutes of fantasy talk in between Uncle Scott’s story time and my mother’s guilt trip over not coming home enough.

Sorry mom, I have a lot of commitments! A fantasy championship doesn’t fall into your lap. I gotta put work in on the waiver wires. I’ll see you on Thanksgiving, when you will feed everyone and John, Chris, Brett and I will disappear in the basement to watch football and talk fantasy.

Just kidding mom! I love you! We’ll come upstairs for halftime.
