Bob Roth, Executive Director of The David Lynch Foundation, talks to some of the most creative and successful people in the world, as well as leaders from the worlds of military, business, finance and education, about their experience with Transcendental Meditation, the role it plays in their lives, effects it has on their work and the impact of stress on success.

This month, Bob spoke with his friend and long-time TM practitioner Russell Brand about his personal life, his battles with addiction and how Transcendental Meditation has helped him manage it all and find a sense of calm.

Correcting the notion that now that he is sober and meditates he is all Zen all the time, Brand says, “I still have it in me, I’ve got desire in me, I’ve got fear in me, I’ve got lust. I’m full of human flesh-based stuff. But what’s happened is a neglected aspect of me has been awoken and cultivated through these meditative practices … I am calmer now. I am less reactive. I think I am more compassionate.”
