Ole Miss 2014 camp tour report from SiriusXM College Sports Nation

August 20, 2014

SiriusXM College Sports Nation’s third annual college football camp tour continued with a stop in Oxford, Miss., as Chris Childers and Gene Chizik visited the Ole Miss Rebels, who are picked to finish fourth in the SEC’s eastern division in 2014.

Ole Miss Rebels Season Preview

Expectations are “off the chart,” according to Chizik, for the Rebels, in head coach Hugh Freeze’s third season.

“What they have to do, they’ve had so many close near-misses in league play.” Chizik said. “They’ve just got to close the door on a few more of those games to pull a five- or six-win SEC schedule. They need to do that. I think that’s the hump they gotta try to get over this year.”

Both Chizik and Childers also believe the key to the Ole Miss Rebels this season will be how they begin, as they have a very tough stretch to start with games in Atlanta against Boise State, at Vanderbilt, then back home against Louisiana-Lafayette.
