Oklahoma State Cowboys 2014 camp tour report from SiriusXM College Sports Nation

August 18, 2014

SiriusXM College Sports Nation’s third annual college football camp tour continued on Thursday, Aug. 14th, as Mark Packer and Houston Nutt visited the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.

Oklahoma State Cowboys season preview

Houston Nutt knows a little something about Oklahoma State football practices. Nutt was OK State’s starting quarterback from 1979-1981. and he had a chance to watch the 2014 squad on the practice field.

“I really enjoyed watching them practice. They look athletic,” Nutt said. “The running backs, they look awfully deep there. Desmond Roland leading the way there plus [quarterback] J.W. Walsh is back and he can beat you with his legs and arm.”

While the offense looks poised to come on strong this season, Nutt says there are some question marks with the defense.

“I worry about the defense because they’ve lost so many people,” Nutt told Mark Packer. “The defensive front is going to have to carry them through. The linebackers, secondary … is a little thin, little bit inexperienced.”
