This week in Evan & Phillips in the Morning (7/14-7/18)

WHAT I LEARNED THIS WEEK

A lot happens on Evan & Phillips in the Morning on Mad Dog Sports Radio, SiriusXM channel 86. It’s a good thing that a guy like me takes notes on everything I’ve learned over the course of the week. However, what I learn each week is not what everyone else has learned, making the “What Babchik learned this week” segment on E&P not only a fun listen, but also an educational one.

COOKING WITH GAS

We started the week with the biggest sports story of the year so far: The King comes home to Cleveland! Well, not everyone was celebrating the move, and Evan and Steve both thought that LeBron made the wrong decision.

WHAT IF …

The NBA is clearly interested in having an NBA team in Las Vegas, and I want to be the one to cover that team. This, of course, lead to a few “What ifs?” by Evan; What if I work in Las Vegas?; What if I can’t handle it and it leads to my bitter end?; What if Mad Dog Chris Russo did the eulogy at my subsequent funeral? Time to hear what that might sound like …

STEVE SPEAKS THE TRUTH

The MLB Home Run Derby was on Monday Night and, let’s face it … it stunk. Evan and I both thought it was incredibly boring, and it needs to be fixed. We excepted Mr. Baseball to defend it, but even Steve, who was watching it from the ballpark, reluctantly admitted that it was a plain old snooze fest.

ONLY IN A BAB BITE

This week I was in Minnesota with Phillips to cover the MLB All Star Game. However, we could not get a studio in the morning near the ballpark, so we did E&P from a hockey arena. That’s a true story. I also had to poorly produce Mad Dog Chris Russo’s ASG remote from Target Field. While promoting the show in a Bab Bite, Evan asked me to go behind the curtain and tell the world what its really like to produce for the Doggie.

TWEET OF THE WEEK

What a week for E&P, and I can’t wait until next week! My wife was thrilled for me that I was able to spend some time in Minnesota for the All-Star Game. She cant wait for my next trip. She’s hoping its a long one …
