Adam Levine wanted to make one thing clear Tuesday morning on The Howard Stern Show:
Sorry, Us Weekly.
Speaking with Howard three months ahead of the return of The Voice, Levine called the rumors started in an exclusive report by the tabloid, which quoted “insiders,” “completely untrue.”
“You know that it’s all nonsense,” Levine said. “99 percent of the sh– that people say about you is some sort of contortion of the truth.”
Levine criticized the way entertainment media uses unnamed sources in breaking stories.
“You don’t need any source to do anything now,” Levine said. “Back in the day, there needed to be some credibility to the rumor. Now, someone can just literally say whatever they want and put it out there, and it’s fine.”
The Maroon 5 front man, who is set to wed Behati Prinsloo in the coming months, added that he doesn’t understand how ex-lovers can remain friends after a breakup.
“I don’t know how dudes are friends with girls they used to be with. I don’t get down with that at all.”
