Palisades Park may have closed on 1971, but the music and memories live on. SiriusXM’s very own Cousin Brucie will be dusting off his leopard print suit to host a reunion celebrating the park’s rock ‘n’ roll shows, featuring original stars Neil Sedaka, Chubby Checker and more.
How did an amusement park earn a special place in rock ‘n’ roll history? (It’s not just because it had its own hit song.) Located just across the Hudson River from New York City, Palisades Park began featuring rock ‘n’ roll shows in the mid-’50s. Hosted by The Cuz, those shows helped launch the careers of artists like The Shirelles, Leslie Gore, The Jackson Five, Tony Bennett, The Four Seasons, Bill Haley & The Comets, Dion, Diana Ross & The Supremes, and many more.
Cousin Brucie’s Palisades Park Reunion 2 features Neil Sedaka, Chubby Checker, The Rip Chords, The Del Satins featuring Stan Zizka and Larry Chance and the Earls. And of course, The Cuz will command the stage, broadcasting live from The State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
