Now is the time for hope and optimism for all 32 NFL teams, as organized team activities get underway and training camps not far behind. On Tuesday, however, one team suffered a serious blow to that hope, as Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee tore his ACL. A cornerstone of the Dallas defense, Lee has struggled to stay healthy over his career, missing five games last season and 10 in 2012.
With the Cowboys now thin at the linebacker position, SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan discussed possible acquisitions to replace Lee.
Cowboys DT Henry Melton later joined The SiriusXM Blitz to talk about the loss of Lee.
When I saw it happen, you never want to see anyone get hurt, it didn’t look that good […] Just getting to know the guy, I was getting excited to play with him. He’s been a real leader for this defense since I got here so, you know, it’s a big blow to our defense, cause he’s a great player. We’re definitely going to miss him.”
