Country/bluegrass performer Dierks Bentley recently stopped by SiriusXM’s Nashville studio to perform a very special SuperFan concert on The Highway, where he played some new and older tracks and talked to Storme Warren about his decade-long career.
“For some reason after 10 years, we’re still climbing,” said Bentley. “It’s a crazy career path. There’s been times I’ve made choices musically that weren’t necessarily the smartest thing for the country music machine. I stepped off and did the bluegrass record (Up on the Ridge), but it’s all worked out in the most perfect way. I really enjoy what I do.”
And what a career it’s been: Bentley released his first studio album in 2003, and now, several years later, he’s on his eighth: Riser, which was released just last February.
Watch Bentley perform What Was I Thinkin’ (the first cut off of his self-titled debut — #throwback!) and two songs from his brand-new disc, Riser and I Hold On.
