Music has a sweet and sneaky way of bringing people together, but that is a huge understatement for piano duo BAX & CHUNG. Originally hailing from Italy, concert pianist Alessio Bax met his now wife, fellow concert pianist, Lucille Chung in Japan when he won the Hamamatsu Piano Competition in 1996 (Bax was only 19 at the time!).
Chung is originally from Montreal and made her piano playing debut at the age of 10 with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. She graduated from Julliard and the Curtis Institute of Music before she turned 20. The prodigy pair recently shared a piano and made some sweet music together, so be sure to check out their renditions of Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture and Piazzolia’s Libertango below!
