Valyrian steel or Liquid Metal: SiriusXM soundtracks Game Of Thrones

April 11, 2014

Repost This

Now that HBO’s Game of Thrones is on its fourth season (!!!), our thoughts have turned to dragons, wolves, Valyrian swords, golden hands, kings, queens, feuding families, bloodcurdling battles, and, of course, hot sex scenes. (Erm, did we just say that out loud?)

We’ve also started thinking about how ridiculously metal GOT is. I mean, you don’t even have to be a metal head to pick up on this; there’s just so much imagery crossover. Dragons? Check. Wolves? Check. Swords? Check. Fighting? Check! Could GOT be the most metal show ever? (Other than Metalocalypse, that is…)

Anyway, because we can’t resist soundtracking our favorite TV shows, we asked Liquid Metal programmer Jose Mangin to handpick his favorite/most appropriate metal songs for GOT, and here’s what he came up with.

Ready?

1. Ronnie James Dio “Killing the Dragon”

2. Metallica “Of Wolf and Man”

3. Anthrax “Fight ‘Em Till You Can’t”

5. The Sword “Winter’s Wolves”

6. Immortal “Battles in the North”

7. 3 Inches Of Blood “Battles And Brotherhood”

8. Dragonforce “Through the Fire and Flames”
