’80s on 8: Big 40 Countdown Feb. 28th, 1980 (2/28/14)

March 3, 2014

This week, the ’80s on 8 Big 40 Countdown brings us back to 1980. The world was mourning the sudden and unexpected loss of John Lennon and growing accustomed to the idea of 24/7 news on CNN. Meanwhile, kids were playing Pac-Man and attempting to solve the ever-elusive Rubik’s Cube.

In the pop music world, Queen ruled the airwaves with the bombastic Crazy Little Thing Called Love, while The Captain & Tennille followed close behind with Do That To Me One More Time. Third in line in 1980 was Teri Di Sario with K.C. (Yes, I’m Ready), and Smokey Robinson took the fourth spot with Cruisin.’

Check out the rest below in this week’s ’80s on 8 Big 40 Countdown.
