Danica Patrick is no stranger to criticism, the latest of which came this week from Richard Petty, who said Patrick could only win a Sprint Cup race “if everybody else stayed home.”
So how does Patrick handle the criticism? “Confidence,” she told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at NASCAR Media Day.
And working really hard, and not having excuses. If I wasn’t confident and didn’t believe in myself and didn’t do the things that I needed to do to be competitive and get better, then it could probably make me more sensitive. But, I work my butt off […] I’m confident in the things that I’ve done and where I’m going […] so, therefore the things people say about me don’t affect me.
