One of the biggest questions heading into fantasy baseball draft season is whether Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis can repeat his monster 2013 season. In many mock drafts, Davis has gone in the first or second round; in the F.S.T.A draft, held in January in Las Vegas, Davis was taken 20th overall.
Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer joined SiriusXM Fantasy Baseball with Craig Mish and Jody McDonald Friday afternoon on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio and gave his thoughts on the Oriole slugger.
He does chase pitches, but when he puts the ball in play his average is somewhere around .340, .345. That has been the history of his career. The Orioles have some terrific core players. It looks like they are going to have a pretty good offense. At the end of the day, he has the big “S” (on his chest), and the Superman cape on. You look at how you are going to pitch to him, and you are going to pitch to him very carefully and with a lot of caution. You only play half your games there, but Camden Yards is a very good place to hit.
