Young roster, all-time defense, and arguably the No. 1 home field in the NFL.
Are the Seattle Seahawks the NFL’s next dynasty-in-the-making?
SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan debated Wednesday whether the Seahawks can repeat in 2014.
“I’m all for [the Seahawks as a dynasty], and excited that it’s potentially there for them,” Kirwan said. “But San Francisco is a tough out. Carolina is gonna be a tough out. The Saints … You know, here’s what they did, which is the beauty of the Seahawks model: They fought for home field. Can they stay razor sharp for 16 games next year in order to get home field again? Because I think some of the teams I mentioned make life a little tougher on the road.
“Does recent history tell us it’s gonna happen?,” Kirwan asked. “When was the last time, 10 years ago? The Patriots? […] It’s a tough thing to do, Jim.”
Kirwan and Miller agreed that for Seattle to secure home field through the NFC playoffs in 2014, they’ll need at least 13 wins to hold off the ‘Niners.
