If you’ve ever seen Nashville, ABC’s country music-themed show, then you’re well aware of how crazy talented the cast is.
Starring Connie Britton as the proud country music vet Rayna Jaymes and Hayden Panettiere as the burgeoning country-pop ingenue, Nashville also features a host of other accomplished cast members: Clare Bowen plays Scarlett O’Connor, a poet and songwriter, Charles Esten is guitarist Deacon Claybourne, Jonathan Jackson plays bad boy musician Avery Barkley, and Sam Palladio plays sweetheart musician Gunnar Scott.
Visiting SiriusXM for a Town Hall moderated by The Highway‘s Storme Warren, the group (minus Hayden Panettiere) delved into everything from what they want for their characters to what they sing along to in the car and performing for a live audience (minus the cameras). Connie Britton even talked about playing a professional musician, despite the fact that singing is “not my number one talent.”
“It was very nerve-wracking, and I also was very excited about the challenge,” Britton said. “That was a lot of the reason why i wanted to do it… I just feel so fortunate because I’ve had amazing people to work with… When you have such wonderful music written by these great Nashville songwriters (T-Bone Burnett and Buddy Miller), I know for a fact that it makes what I have to do a lot easier.”
