Peyton Manning planning to retire? Not yet

January 29, 2014

Historic season under center for the Denver Broncos. Possible Super Bowl XLVIII win. Ride off into the sunset?

Not so fast.

Even if Peyton Manning‘s Broncos top the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, don’t expect the veteran signal-caller to start making retirement plans.

“There’s always the physical question,” Manning explained to SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I certainly wanna play next season. I’ve kinda been rejuvenated coming off that injured year where I wasn’t able to play – boy you really miss being out there [...] Especially when you can win football games and be a part of a good team. So that is my goal next year.”

Manning also took SiriusXM listeners into his hotel room on the eve of the game, and filled in Bruce Murray and Rich Gannon on what the last thing will be to go through his mind before his head hits the pillow.
