Whether you were following along with the Beatles in the 1960s through their various phases of self-discovery and experimentation, or you have become a fan and follower of their legacy in recent years, images of the fab four sitting around a smiling Yogi with long hair and a beard, wearing white robes are iconic to the era.

But what many people don’t realize is that the band’s discovery and study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, not only led to lifelong practice of transcendental meditation for several of them, but beginning in 1967 it led to a wave of meditation through the West.

This week on Success Without Stress, Bob Roth, Executive Director of The David Lynch Foundation, talks with Ringo Starr about that initial exposure to TM, his decades-long practice and how it has helped him find stillness and peace in his own life.

Previously, David Lynch himself spoke with Beatles front man Paul McCartney about the same series of events that he credits with helping him find his center during a particularly chaotic period for The Beatles.
