Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, Howard Stern take sides: A-Rod or Yankees?

#TeamARod or #TeamYankees?

Howard Stern and Chris Russo took sides earlier this week, with Howard aligning with the infielder, and Russo siding with baseball.

“Honor the contract, New York Yankees,” Howard said on the Howard Stern Show. “That’s gotta be the way it is. I know he’s not the hot ballplayer anymore. And hey, who wouldn’t want to save $61 million? [But] you knew he was doing juice, don’t act like you didn’t. All those years, he was hitting home runs. He’s like Beetlejuice, he’s got these big arms; where do you think those come from? You don’t see any human being running around with that.”

Russo’s reply, via Howard 100 News:

“He is a desperate man, he is gonna take everyone down with him,” Russo said. “It’s hard to defend A-Rod in any shape, way or form. He did drugs in ’09, he told everybody, ‘Give me a second chance.’ We did, then he did drugs in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. He put together a lousy defense team, only four witnesses, they all stunk. It’s hard to defend A-Rod. He got exactly what he deserved. Good bye, and good riddance.”

Here’s Russo’s full take from his program, Mad Dog Unleashed:

And in the “Why not?” department, here’s Russo performing push-ups on Howard’s show back in October:
