Sway on interview with Kanye: ‘In the end, there was love’

December 10, 2013

Two weeks ago, on Shade 45’s Sway in the Morning, Sway and Kanye West had it out in a high-intensity interview. Howard Stern praised Sway for how he responded to Kanye, calling the appearance an “excellent interview.”

“First of all, being on The Howard Stern Show and getting a compliment is like winning a Grammy,” Sway told Howard 100 News reporter Shuli Egar. “So that, itself, is a big accomplishment. ‘Look, mom, I made it!’

“I learned from Howard, why would I back down,” Sway continued. “You know Kanye is a very important artist of this generation. He’s one of the most outspoken, probably one of the most polarizing artists, and he’s a good friend of mine. So it’s like my little brother yelling at me, and that’s all that was. And in the end, there was love, and I think people gotta recognize that two black men, going at it, and neither one of us ended up knocked out – that’s something to celebrate.”
