Well, there’s still one.
Former NBA player Jerry Stackhouse told Frank Isola and Stacey King Monday on SiriusXM NBA Radio’s The Starting Lineup he feels both the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks will get past their early season struggles, and make a run at the playoffs.
“Jason [Kidd]‘s catching up with the game,” Stackhouse said. “I think from a player, and then moving over to a coach’s standpoint, it’s two totally different things. I think now he’s seeing it, he’s seeing it more, I think he’s getting better and better each game. [...] I still think [Brooklyn] is going to win that division.”
As for the Knicks:
“I think it’s exactly the same thing, you’re missing a major piece,” Stackhouse told Isola. “It may not seem like [Tyson Chandler] should be that influential a player, but he is for that team. He’s the backbone of that defense, and they really have no defense without him.
“They’ve lose their confidence, but I think again, they can get it back.”
Stackhouse also named his biggest surprise and biggest disappointment in the Western Conference.
