“We have an extra layer of misery,” Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) told Ari Rabin-Havt on The Agenda on SiriusXM Progress early Thursday morning. The Congresswoman is referring to Gov. Scott Walker’s delay of Medicaid expansion, forcing many who can’t afford it into the health exchange. She predicts that thousands of people will lose health care coverage come April; the very people who would have benefited from the Medicaid expansion.
“It’s going to cost the state an extra $90 million! They’re spending more money to cover less people… He thinks this is going to make him presidential. He’s delusional,” she said.
Commenting on a December 5, 2013 article in POLITICO titled “GOP men tutored in running against women,” Moore went on to call Republican party men “Neanderthals.”
“So many members of Congress don’t say stupid things (like Todd Akin’s infamous ‘legitimate rape’ comment) but they have supported bills that want to redefine rape and be in denial about it. They have to have classes to… use the right words to cover up their really, really, really right wing thinking about the position and capacity of women to take care of their own bodies.”
