The NBA is back on SiriusXM!
Thursday, SiriusXM and the NBA announced the launch of SiriusXM NBA Radio, set for Monday, Dec. 9 on channel 217.
The channel is stacked with must-hear hosts, including Steve Kerr, Kenny Smith, Nancy Lieberman, Stacey King, Lionel Hollins, Mike Dunleavy Sr. and Sam Mitchell. King and Frank Isola will be the first two hosts heard on the channel, as they’ll anchor the opening-day morning show, The Starting Lineup, at 7 am ET.
Day 1 of the channel will pack some punch, too. Listeners will hear exclusive interviews with NBA Commissioner David Stern, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Detroit Pistons center-forward Greg Monroe, and Hall of Famers Chris Mullin and Bernard King.
“The NBA has always been an important element of our sports lineup and we’re thrilled to be enhancing our coverage with the launch of SiriusXM NBA Radio,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer, via a press release. “Since 2003, we’ve given our listeners the ability to follow their favorite team’s games from anywhere across the U.S. in their car, at home or on their mobile device. Now they’ll have a radio channel that will deliver a 360-degree view of the league from the people who know the game best. Starting December 9, SiriusXM NBA Radio will be must-listen radio for NBA fans.”
For those that can’t wait for Monday? Good news: Thursday, at 6 pm ET, Duke’s Coach K will interview LeBron James on SiriusXM College Sports Nation’s Basketball and Beyond. After the show, listeners will also be able to hear the interview in its entirety on SiriusXM On Demand.
