Even the Baddest Man on the Planet has a soft side.
When former World Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson was first approached by Larry “Ratso” Sloman to write a book about his life, revisiting his past was too painful for him. But a few years later, Tyson was able to come to grips with exposing himself, a struggle he opened up about during his SiriusXM Town Hall, hosted by Shade 45’s Sway.
“I didn’t want to deal with that,” Tyson said. “I was really emotionally naked.”
Sloman himself spoke about the experience of working with Tyson, and why writing the book was such a struggle for the former boxer.
“Doing these books is a very emotional thing,” Sloman said. “You really do lay your soul bare, and he more than anybody else because he’s like the most honest guy I’ve ever met.”
