As NFL teams shift more toward the spread offense, power running games and the role of the fullback have diminished. Former NFL fullback and four-time Pro Bowler Lorenzo Neal joined his former teammate, LaDainian Tomlinson, on In The Endzone with L.T. Wednesday on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio and talked about the extinction of the position.
Neal also gave his thoughts on Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy, whom Neal said gives the Packers an added dimension that will make them difficult to beat as the season progresses.
When you watch Lacy, how this young man runs between the tackles, he’s a physical guy. This guy’s physical, he runs down hill. The Green Bay Packers are starting to (believe) that they are a physical team. They can beat you by air or they can beat you by land. Lacy does a phenomenal job moving the chains.
