According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the St. Louis Rams reached out to retired quarterback Brett Favre Sunday, in search of a replacement for injured starter Sam Bradford.
SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio’s Adam Schein was baffled by the Rams’ thought process.
The St. Louis Rams sat at a table … they’re coming up with names, and they choose Brett Favre? Let’s reach out to his agent, Bus Cook, and see if Brett Favre wants to play quarterback for us? Are you kidding me? These are men who are paid to make decisions! The guy was on NFL Network on Sunday, and you’re calling Brett Favre later that day to see if he wants to play quarterback? What an embarrassment! What a joke! I mean Kellen Clemens is not gonna set the world on fire, but I don’t know – he at least has thrown a pass to Tavon Austin in practice. He at least isn’t hanging out on the farm. He didn’t spend this past Sunday in a TV studio. You know – little things, minor things. What the hell is going on here? Brett Favre? What a joke! Anybody watch him in Minnesota? If he played on Monday night against the Seahawks defense, I would be worried about him never getting up off the turf after Seattle pounded him into the ground … Someone’s gotta say, ‘You know what? Brett Favre’s dead. Cross him off. There should be no phone call’ … Unless there’s a celebrity softball game where the proceeds are going to charity, Brett Favre’s name should not come up in discussion. Ever. For anything. In the history of the world.
