Wednesday on Bleacher Report Radio, Covino and Rich were joined by Bleacher Report’s national lead writer, Dan Levy, to talk about the World Series. Levy, who recently penned a column suggesting a massive change to the World Series format — a three-game series instead of a seven-game series — defended his position, and said that a switch would result in better ratings.
“Why not do what the NFL does, and make the championship an event,” Levy said. “I think you could end it on three games, all at a neutral site. You could set up a whole week of fanfare leading up to the World Series, and you could make it a spectacle.”
Levy also talked about the lack of interest in out-of-market teams among the current generation of baseball fans.
Bleacher Report Radio with Covino and Rich airs weekdays at 11 am ET on SiriusXM Sports Zone channel 92.
