When Terrelle Pryor was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL supplemental draft, it seemed unlikely he had a future as a starting QB in the NFL. But Pryor’s start in 2013 has suggested otherwise.
The 24 year-old quarterback has been solid through the first three games, posting an 86.7 passer rating. In fact, he’s performed well enough to make a believer out of SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Bill Polian.
“Terrelle Pryor, I was almost shockingly surprised at how much he has improved as a passer,” Polian said. “He is unbelievably gifted.”
Polian also commented on Pryor’s speed and ability to run with the football, comparing him to Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.
“He and RG3 are the two best running quarterbacks in the National Football League, in terms of running talent,” Polian said. “They can run away from you in a heartbeat.”
Late Hits with Polian and Alex Marvez airs weekdays at 8pm ET on SiriusXM NFL Radio, channel 88.
