Jennifer Coolidge can’t handle the pressure (of texting)

August 12, 2013

Whether it’s as Stifler’s mom in American Pie, or Sophie Kachinsky on 2 Broke Girls, Jennifer Coolidge can time comedy to perfection. So what cracks her? A buzzing phone, it would seem.

“A lot of people can handle so much more than I can. They can get 500 texts a day and return them all. I get 10 and I’m like, ‘This is overwhelming,’” Coolidge told Frank DeCaro on OutQ. “They all come in and you’ve got to respond. Sometimes I read my texts I’m like, ‘That just doesn’t sound nice enough,’ and then you have to go edit and your whole day is gone! I’ve just done one text and my whole day’s down the tubes.”

That’s why Coolidge admires her 2 Broke Girls co-stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, who she said never hire assistants and even leave the set to pick up their own dry-cleaning.

Coolidge told DeCaro more about her “dream job” on the show and other everyday tasks that seem overwhelming to her in the full interview.
