George R.R. Martin felt guilty after Game of Thrones’ ‘Red Wedding’

July 23, 2013

After the “Red Wedding” in the third season of Games of Thrones, fans of the show were furious with author George R. R. Martin. But Martin felt guilty, too, for killing off his characters and writing actors off of the show as a result.

The author stopped by Entertainment Weekly Radio‘s suite at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend to talk about the emotional goodbye and his rush to finish the rest of the series. He was joined by Michelle Fairley, formerly Katelyn Stark on the show, and Richard Madden, who played Rob Stark. The pair told EW about their upcoming plans now that they won’t be returning to GOT next season.
