Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon, not reigning Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel, are the favorites to win the biggest individual honor in college football this year, according to USA Today’s Danny Sheridan.
On The Tim Brando Show on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, Sheridan had Bridgewater and Yeldon as the co-favorites to win the Heisman this year, with Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller third. Sheridan gave both Bridgewater and Yeldon 6-1 odds and Miller 7-1.
So where was Manziel? Still in the top 5, but at 10-1 odds. Sheridan blamed off-the-field issues for the Texas A&M quarterback’s positioning among the rest of college football’s elite.
The Tim Brando Show airs weekdays at 9 am ET on SiriusXM channel 91.
