Georgetown forward Otto Porter is expected to be among the first couple of players selected in Thursday’s NBA draft. In fact, Porter’s college coach, John Thompson III, thinks the 6-8 sophomore deserves to go No. 1.
Thompson spoke about Porter’s skill set Monday on The Tim Brando Show, and said that Porter has the best chance in this year’s class to make an instant impact in the NBA.
“Otto, from Day 1 he did it. From the time he walked on campus, I said, as you indicated, he was the most prepared freshman I had,” Thompson said. “Without a doubt, the most prepared person in this year’s draft, to step in, and immediately compete and immediately contribute at the next level.”
After saying Porter should go first overall, Thompson added an intriguing NBA comparison: Indiana Pacers forward and playoff star Paul George.
