He may not have been able to vote in the November 6, 2012 elections, but like most things, that didn’t stop British comedian Ricky Gervais from voicing his (very funny) opinion. “[I’d vote for] Obama, the real president,” he jokes. “Not the one with the magic hat.”
More than pitching for one candidate, though, Gervais urged listeners to just get to the polls. “Go and vote, come on. People fought for the right for you to vote, go and vote,” he said.
In response to Opie & Anthony Show host Jim Norton’s uncertainty about which candidate he likes—or whether he’s going to vote at all, Gervais said, “What do you mean? I’m not allowed to vote. This is so frustrating!” But in the end he found a, shall we say, sophomoric “law” that Obama would jokingly pass if we won, finally convincing Norton to vote.
